The autosaves after every level which makes preserving progress easier.Ī big part of why I say go with III is because you can play DKC on the SNES or GBA and they are superior versions, I play the GBC as a sort of novelty mostly, DKL III I play for fun. My problem with it is running, rolling and jumping on enemies feels slightly off somehow and hit box detection seems slightly broken leaving you wondering why you got hit or jumped through an item. It's quite amazing to see it all there on the GBC. On the negative the game is in black and white and you need to reach save locations on the map to save.ĭKC for the GBC is a full remake of DKC for the SNES, every level recreated in full. In Donkey Kong Land III although the backdrops and enemies are the same as DKC3 the game features 100% unique level designs, 5 worlds 6 levels each + a boss and a similar 6th bonus world for getting all the collectibles. I vote for Donkey Kong Land III, it's my favorite gameboy game, Donkey Kong Country isn't a bad choice either though.
